Philip Rodney LeCompte, Sr., 87, a native and resident of Houma, LA, was entrusted to God's care on February 25, 2012, at 6:00 P.M., to be eternally with his beloved wife Ruth and his son Terry. He passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 28, 2012 from 9:00am to 10:30am at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at 10:30am at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral with burial at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery #2 He is survived by his 4 sons and 2 daughters: Philip LeCompte, Jr., and wife Gail; Glenn LeCompte and wife Debbie; Lynn LeCompte and wife Jan; Tommy LeCompte and wife Stephanie; Connie Boudreaux and husband Raymond, Jr., and Annette Poiencot and husband Lloyd. He is also survived by his sister Kate Graham and her husband Jimmy. All of whom are from Houma, LA. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren: Timothy LeCompte, Michael LeCompte, Christopher LeCompte, Stephanie Bergeron, Carrie Theriot, Cade LeCompte, Courtney Evans, Rodney LeCompte, Shannon LeCompte, Jacob LeCompte, Jamie LeCompte, Heidi Walker, T.J. "Terry" LeCompte, Monica Porche, Brian Detwiler, John Detwiler, Benji Poiencot, Casey Poiencot, and Corey Poiencot. He is also survived by 29 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Ruth Boquet LeCompte of 67 years; his parents Paul and Nettie Bergeron LeCompte; his son Terry J. LeCompte; his brothers Bennie, Roy, Bobby, and J.P. LeCompte; his sisters Jeanette Domangue, Alice Sonnier, and Norma Robichaux; and his great-grandchild Derrick Porche. Philip was a retired owner of Philip LeCompte and Sons, Inc., a commercial and residential contracting business. He was one of the founders of The Bayou Dularge Volunteer Fire Department; a past board member of the St. Eloi Catholic Church and the St. Gregory Catholic Church; a past member of the Moose Club and The Stinkers; and was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a Parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Cathedral Church. Philip enjoyed family time and being surrounded by family, going to his camp, and woodworking. He will be sadly missed by all of his family members and friends. The family wants to give special thanks to Journey Hospice, Bayou Home Care, and The Internal Medicine Clinic. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to TARC or St. Francis de Sales Cathedral Church.
