Eves Joseph Naquin, 93, died Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at 1:20 AM. He was a native and resident of Pointe Aux Chenes, LA. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2012 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. Friday, February 17, 2012 from 9:00 AM until Service time at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 17, 2012 at 11:30 AM at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Interment: St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church Cemetery. He is survived by his, Daughters, Vesta Chauvin Authement of Bourg, Carolyn N. Guidry and companion Sullivan Pierce of Larose, Karen N. Fleming and husband Joe and Connie N. DeVault and husband Jason both of Pointe Aux Chenes; 16 Grandchildren, 33 Great Grandchildren, and 10 Great Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his, Wife, Verna Margaret Dupre Naquin; Parents, Henry Naquin and Fabiola Dupre Naquin; Son, Terry Naquin, Sr; Daughter in Law, Malane A. Naquin; Sons in Law, Ronald Chauvin and Sterling Authement, Sr; Brothers, Dennis, Harry, Westley, and Lynus Naquin; Sisters, Doris N. Rodrigue and Bessie N. Dupre; Grand daughter, Kristy Guidry Eves was an Army veteran and served during World War II. He was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus, VFW and the American Legion. He loved the outdoors and worked his whole life as a farmer. He retired from South Coast Sugar Refinery. He was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather and great great grandfather. He taught his family the values of hard work and to enjoy life. He never met a stranger that didn't become a friend. He was a devout Catholic and a parishioner of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. He was one of the leaders who helped build the present St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church and was involved in many community organizations. He will be deeply missed by all. The family would like to thank Tammy Martin, CNA, Dr. Abou Issa, Dr. Alexander, STAT Home health and the Journey Hospice staff for the care given to our father.
