Rose Landreneau Dunckelman was born on January 3, 1925 and passed away January 20, 2012 at Ollie Steele Burden Manor in Baton Rouge. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was 87 and a native of Ville Platte, and a former resident of Houma and Lafayette.
Visitation will be from 9:00am until service time Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at St. Bernadette Soubirous Catholic Church, 409 Funderburk Ave. Houma, LA 70364.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at 12:00 pm at St. Bernadette Soubirous Catholic Church, The mass will be celebrated by Reverend Joseph Pilola and Deacon William “Bill” Dunckelman.
Burial: St. Francis de Sales Cemetery #2.
She is survived by five children and their spouses, Elfrieda D. Bayhi and husband William “Rick” of St. Gabriel, Louisiana, Dr. John W. Dunckelman and wife, Leslie of Cape Coral, Florida, William H. Dunckelman of Houma, LA, Samuel Dunckelman
of Lafayette, LA, and Mary D. Cook and husband Lennis, of Katy, TX, thirteen (13) grandchildren and five (5) great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Preston Henry Dunckelman, parents, Avenant and Lolita Guillory Landreneau, brother Louis Landreneau and his wife Azalie and her daughter in law, Geralyn Bergeron Dunckelman.
She was a graduate of Sacred Heart School in Ville Platte and Baton Rouge Business College. Rose was a retired secretary with the Louisiana State Department of Vocational Rehabilitation in Houma with 20 years of service.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons and Dr. Tony Greco. Many thanks to the kind and devoted staff at Ollie Steele Burden Manor for the loving care provided during her three years there.
