Rheta Chauvin Ledet was born October 5th, 1929 and a Native of Terrebonne Parish and a resident of Chauvin/Houma. Rheta Chauvin Ledet died at 5:00pm Sunday January 8th, 2012. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 10, 2012 from 6:00pm to 9:00pm at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. and Wednesday, January 11, 2012 from 9:00am to 11:00am at Annunziata Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at 11:00am at Annunziata Catholic Church with buril in St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery. "Loving Mother, teacher and community Volunteer. She left us too soon." She is survived by her, Sons: Ragis "R.J." Ledet Jr and wife Grace Ledet, Samuel P. Ledet and wife Lisa Ledet,Wayne A. Ledet and wife Brandi Ledet,Jules F. Ledet and wife Debbie Ledet and Troy V. Ledet and wife Ellen Ledet; Daughters: Brenda Ledet Pellegrin Lugo and husband Gus Lugo, Joann M. Ledet and companion Glen Verrett Phyliss A. Ledet, Lydia L. Ledet Alleman and husband Ray Alleman and Christine E. Ledet Hamner and husband Clyde Hamner; Brothers: Earl Chauvin; Sisters: Lois Crochet and Elphie Savoie; Grandchildren: 25 and Great Grandchildren: 38. She was preceded in death by her, Spouse: Ragis Joseph Ledet Sr.; Parents:Lindsey Chauvin Sr. and Minnie LeBlanc Chauvin; Brother: Lindsey Chauvin Jr.; Sisters: Ola Crochet; Half Sisters: Josephine Stoufflet and Verdie Peeples. She was a parishioner of Annunziata Catholic Church. She was a retired school teacher, with Terrebonne Parish School Board volunteered for numerous organizations including Annunziata, St Vincet DePaul, Exxon-Mobil Club of Louisiana, and AARP.
