Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 11, 2012 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. Thursday, January 12, 2012 from 10:30 AM until service time at St. Bernadette Soubirous Catholic Church Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, January 12, 2012 at 12:30 PM at St. Bernadette Soubirous Catholic Church. Burial: St. Francis de Sales Cemetery #2 He is survived by his, wife, Bootsy Flanagan Powell, Houma, LA sons, Randal Wayne Powell, Mont Belvieu, TX, and Joshua Paul Naquin, Houma, LA daughters, Hayley Flanagan McCutcheon, Houma, LA and Brooke Alexandra Argyilan, Gulfport, MS parents, Robert W. Powell, Lafayette, LA and Janice Freeman Powell, Houston, TX granddaughter, Peyton Rene, Mont Belvieu, TX brothers, Robert William Powell, II, Las Vegas, NV, Ryan Willis Powell, Houston, TX. He was preceded in death by his, grandparents, Dewey and Mabel Melancon Freeman and Floyd and Pauline Powell. Rod was a Master Auto Body Technician and custom fabricator for 20 plus years. He was a loving husband and father and friend. He was an avid fisher, hunter, gardener and Saints fan; a wonderful artist and very giving person.
