Verges John Pellegrin, 82, died Friday, January 6, 2012 at 9:25 AM. He was a native and resident of Houma, Louisiana. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 8, 2012 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. and Monday, January 9, 2012 from 9:00 AM until service time at Annunziata Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, January 9, 2012 at 12:00 PM at Annunziata Catholic Church. Burial will be held at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Cemetery. He is survived by his, Loving wife of 60 years, Janet Catherine Bergeron Pellegrin, Houma, LA, sons, Chris John Pellegrin and wife Kimberly Kirkpatrick Pellegrin, Tampa, FL, Mark Stephen Pellegrin and wife, Lisa Ard Pellegrin, Prairieville, LA, Dean David Pellegrin, Houma, LA daughter, Amy Pellegrin Dupre and husband Keith Dupre, Houma, LA grandchildren, Justin Pellegrin and wife April, Norfolk, VA, Carly Pellegrin Christian and Bradley Pellegrin, Wesley Chapel, FL, Megan and Evan Pellegrin, Prairieville, LA, Matthew and Alexis Pellegrin, Houma, LA, Jonah, Noah and Sarah Dupre, Houma, LA, great grandchildren, Raelyn Loflin, Wesley Chapel, FL, Aubrey Pellegrin, Norfolk, VA, Brothers, Levis "L.P." Pellegrin and wife Billie, Houma, LA, Terry Pellegrin and wife Gail, Houma, LA, sisters, Enid LeBlanc and husband Morris, Houma, LA and Ismay “Blackie” Folse, Raceland, LA. He was preceded in death by his, parents, Levis J. Pellegrin and Edna Boudreaux Pellegrin, brother, Bruce Pellegrin and wife Wilma, sister, Ruth Malbrough and husband O'Neil Malbrough, Sr. and grandson, Aaron Pellegrin. He was a parishioner of Annunziata Catholic Church. He owned Pellegrin Brothers Trucking Service along with his brother, Bruce. He served as a sergeant in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, bowling and square dancing. He was a square dance caller for the Knight Twirlers for six years. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He loved telling stories to his grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Mr. Pellegrin's name to The Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011.
