Roy Francis Breerwood, Sr., 91, died Sunday, January 1, 2012 at 8:15 PM. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and resident of Houma, LA. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 6, 2012 from 9:00 AM until service time at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, January 6, 2012 at 11:00 AM at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral. Burial: St. Francis de Sales Cemetery #2. He is survived by his, wife of 66 years, Delmae Marie Melancon Breerwood, Houma, LA, sons, Roy Francis Breerwood, Jr. and wife Cheryl, Houma, LA, Glen Joseph Breerwood and wife Mary "Sunnie", Houma, LA, daughter, Ellen Martha Breerwood Chauvin and husband, William "Punkin", Thibodaux, LA, grandchildren, Roy "Buddy" Breerwood, III and wife Elizabeth "Betsy", Brian Breerwood and wife Marcia, Stephen Breerwood and wife Christy, Aaron Breerwood, Craig Breerwood and fiancee Heather Koontz, Margaret Aimee Breerwood, Glen Paul Breerwood and wife Jessica, Christopher Breerwood, David Breerwood, Joseph "Joey" Breerwood, William "Caleb" Chauvin, great grandchildren, Drew Breerwood, Jacob Breerwood, Jack Breerwood, Hayden Breerwood, Sydney Breerwood. He was preceded in death by his, parents, William J. Breerwood, Jr. and Cecilia Ziegler Breerwood, and brother, Elmer L. Breerwood. He was an Oil Field Representative for Oilwell Supply Company for 35 years. He served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart, Flying Cross and the Bronze Star Medals. He was the president of the HARC Duplicate Bridge Club and a member of the Knight Twirlers Square Dance Club. He was a Silver Life Master in Bridge. He was also a member of the VFW and the American Legion. He was a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Cathedral and supported many Catholic Charitable Organizations.
