On Monday, October 17, 2011, Lillian LaRose Marmillion died in Houma at age 94.
Visitation will be on Thursday, Oct. 20th from 8:00 AM until the funeral Mass at Maria Immacolata Catholic Church in Houma. Mass will be held at 11:00 AM at the church, with burial following at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No.2.
Lillian was born on August 13, 1917 in Timberton (Convent), LA, the last child of the late Anatole F. LaRose & Albertine Robichaux. She grew up in Ponchatoula, Louisiana, moved to Shaw, Mississippi and, for the last 57 years, resided in Houma, Louisiana. “Miss Lil” was a devout Catholic and a founding parishioner of Maria Immacolata Catholic Church. For the past 67 years, she was the loving wife of the late Norman Marmillion, Sr. who died this past January. “Miss Lil’s” foremost devotion was to her family.
She is survived by her 5 children: Mary Ann Marmillion Rampton, by Norman Jr. and his wife Sand Warren Marmillion, by Valsin Marmillion and his partner Juan Pisani, by Kathy Marmillion Trahan & by Stephen and his wife Colleen Cole Marmillion. Eight grandchildren: Bradley Naquin and wife, Melanie, Alicia Naquin Gros, Jamie Trahan Bernard, Ron Trahan and wife, Karen, Mitch Trahan, Nicole, Symone and Françoise Marmillion who have always called her their “Mamee.” Seven great-grandchildren: Mary Beth & Matthew Gros, Kailin & Britlin Bernard, Conner & Maddie Jo Trahan and Alexis Naquin, along with a host of nieces and nephews who will all miss her. Mrs. Marmillion was preceded in death by her four LaRose siblings: Emmet, Cleveland, Thelma (Pitre) and Ethel (Vitter).
The family extends their warmest thanks to the supportive medical and nursing staffs of Chateau Terrebonne Health Care, Haydel Memorial Hospice and private sitters.
