Carroll Dewitt McKey, Jr.

Carroll Dewitt McKey Jr, 72, a native of Crowley and resident of Houma, died on Wednesday, September 7, 2011. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to funeral time Saturday, September 10, at St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church. Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. at the church with private burial services at a later date. He is survived by his wife, Jeannie Barker McKey, and five children; Leah McKey Keiser and husband Wayde of Kenner, Carroll (Cal) McKey III and wife Donna of Houma, Shawn McKey Naquin and husband Lester of Houma, Ann-Margaret (Penny) McKey Leary and husband Sean of Houma, Laine McKey Thayer and husband Lance of Dallas. He was the proud "PaPa" of 17 grandchildren and one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carroll D McKey, Sr. of Centerville, Mississippi and Margurite LeBlanc McKey of Broussard, Louisiana; and one sister, Patsy McKey of Houma. He was a parishioner of St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church. A Bachelor of Science graduate of USL, he was the former owner of Houma Tire Service and part owner of Houma Valve. He worked as a realtor for Century 21 and was a former president and long time member of the Houma Rotary Club.
