Frances Connely South, 89, died Sunday, September 4, 2011 at 10:58 PM. She was a native of New Orleans, LA and resident of Houma, LA. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 8, 2011 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc.and Friday, September 9, 2011 from 10:00 AM until service time at Grace Lutheran Church. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, September 9, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Grace Lutheran Church with burial in Magnolia Cemetery. She is survived by her, daughter, Frances Dean "Deanie" South Skaggs and husband Paul H. Skaggs, MD, Vero Beach, FL, son, Edward Connely South and wife Martha Richardson South, Houma, LA, grandchildren, Ben Skaggs and wife Julie Ann Skaggs, San Diego, CA, Rachel South Boquet and husband Kerry "Binky" Boquet, Houma, LA, Matthew R. South and wife Jaime Olsen South, Baton Rouge, LA, Hunter E. South, Baton Rouge, LA, Katie Skaggs Bechtold and husband Colby Bechtold, Vero Beach, FL, great grandchildren, Olivia and Connely Skaggs, Katelin and Addison South, Lily Skaggs, Cooper and Carson Bechtold, Clara and Stella Boquet. She was preceded in death by her, parents, Edmund McCollam, MD Connely and Frances Bisland Connely. She was a member of St. Matthews Episcopal Church. She was a retired teacher. She was a member of the Terrebonne Orchid Society and Delta Kappa Gamma. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Matthew's Episcopal Church Rebuilding Fund.
