Jean Frey

Jean Elizabeth Lingel Frey, 84, died Thursday, September 1, 2011 at 9:30 PM. She was a native of Mt. Morris, IL and resident of Houma, LA. Visitation will be held on Monday, September 5, 2011 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. and Tuesday, September 6, 2011 from 9:00 AM until Service time at Grace Lutheran Church Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at 10:30 AM at Grace Lutheran Church. She is survived by her, Children, Gail E. Akins and husband David, Laura Lee Rychwalski and husband Kenneth, John R. Frey and Joseph B. Frey and wife Stephanie; Grandchildren, Jarrett Corbitt and wife Jennifer, Brandon Corbitt and wife Sondra and Audra Kraus Great Grandchildren, Hayden McLendon, Jacey Corbitt, Gabrielle Corbitt, Kara Kraus and Peyton Kraus Brother, Ted Lingel and wife Helen and their family Sister and brother in law, Shirley and Robert Miller and their family She was preceded in death by her, Husband, Richard B. Frey Parents, Edward Clifford Lingel and Eugenia Snodgrass Lingel; Grandson, Stefan R. Frey She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. Jean was a very active member of Grace Lutheran Church. She was an avid reader and bridge player, loved music and played both the organ and the piano. She and her husband Richard also enjoyed travel. Prior to retiring with her husband to Houma in 1990, she was a longtime resident of Des Plaines, IL where she was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church and involved in numerous community activities. A devoted friend, she maintained close relationships through letters and emails all through her life. She is loved and will be missed by many. In lieu of flowers the family would like memorial donations to be made to Grace Lutheran Church, Early Childhood Center (ECC), 422 Valhi Boulvard, Houma, Louisiana, 70360, or the American Lung Association.
