Ethelene "Ethel" Kreamer Poincon, 76, a native of Marrero and resident of Houma, died at 3:40 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 28, 2011, after a two year battle with cancer.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to funeral time Wednesday at Chauvin Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home chapel, with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.
She is survived by three sons, Wayne DeRoche and companion, Mindy Peltier, Byron DeRoche and wife, Lola, and Paul Poincon Jr. and wife, Lynetta; three daughters, Jenny Loupe and husband, Dudley, Pam DeRoche Russo and husband, Jonathan, and Karen Poincon and companion, Bob Passman; nine grandchildren, Rachelle Gautreaux and husband, Robert "Bo", Brittany Pijor and husband, Dustin, Nicole and Ashley Russo, Ross and Kaylee DeRoche, Bretta Tassara and husband, T.J., and Zachary and Payton Poincon; five great-grandchildren, Cullen Nyssen, Logan Pijor, Gabrielle and Addison Gautreaux and Kaleb Tassara; one sister, Mae Loup; three brothers, Erole Kreamer and wife, Hilda, Alvin Kreamer and wife, Sedonia, and Ronald Norris Kreamer and wife, Helen; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Poincon; her parents, Joseph and Alice Kreamer; her sister, Una Busby; and her brother-in-law, Willie Loup.
She loved to work in her yard, flowers and her animals. Most of all she loved her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her brothers and sisters.
She will be forever missed and loved by her family and friends.
She was Catholic.
