REGINALD “Reggie” A. LIRETTE, JR. passed away peacefully on Monday, August 1, with his loving family by his side. A native of Houma, Louisiana, he was born on September 10, 1938 and was 72 years old. Reggie was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He is survived by his wife Cindy Lirette; one son, Keith Lirette and wife Andrea of Houma, LA; one step-son, Justin Clements and wife Kendra of Houma, La; three daughters; Mollie Sue Borne and husband Ben of Houma, LA; Pamela L. Gyan and husband Joe of Gonzales, LA; Lyndel Dryden-Ordoyne and husband Jonathan of Prairieville, LA; twelve grandchildren; Brian A. Dryden, Jr., Sarah Borne Simon, Rebecca Borne Alcala, Claire Borne, Jonathan Borne, Penny Gyan, Emily Gyan, Allyson Cobb, Connor Clements, Meagan Clements, Wyatt Clements, and Austin Clements; and one great-grandson Holden Dryden. He is also survived by his father, Reginald “Reggie” A. Lirette Sr.; and a sister, Consuello “Tina” Elfert. He was preceded in death by his mother, Marjorie Mae Schexnaildre Lirette, and a brother, Keith Joseph Lirette. He was a long time parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua Church where he was a Lector and an Extra-Ordinary Minister of the Eucharist and a Knights of Columbus council member. He was a member of the American Society of Safety Engineers, Kappa Alpha Fraternity, LSU Tiger Athletic Foundation, and a former member the Krewe of Houmas. He loved spending time with his family and many friends. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and a devoted fan of the LSU Tiger football and baseball teams. Reggie worked as a safety engineer and consulant for many years, working for Chromalloy Natural Resources, Delta Services and HWC. He opened Safety & Training Consultants, LLC in 1993 until he sold the company in 2003 and retired in 2006. In lieu of flowers the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society or CaringBridge.com/Reggie Lirette Tributes. Visitation will be held at Chauvin Funeral Home on Thursday, August 4 from 6 - 9 pm and on Friday August 5 from 9 – 11am at St. Anthony Catholic Church on Bayou Black, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11am. Interment will be at Magnolia Cemetery following the Mass.
