Rosemarie Herman

Rosemarie Anne Piontkowski Herman, was born Aug. 14, 1925, a native of Milwaukee and resident of Houma, left this world on wings of angels at 2:40 a.m. Sunday, July 24, 2011. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to 12 noon Wednesday at Chauvin Funeral Home. Mass will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, with interment in the church mausoleum. She is survived by five children, Julia "Julie" Ann McElroy and husband, Earl J. McElroy Jr., Helen Marie Whitney and husband, Richard Sr., Henrietta "Susie" Chaisson and husband, Glaise Sr., Gregory Thomas Herman and wife, Marie Louise Lirette Herman, and Mark Alan Herman; 30 grandchildren, Robin Anne Aucoin LeBlanc and husband, Mark, Dawn Marie Aucoin Ezell and husband, Robert Sr., Robert Anthony Aucoin Jr., Garrett Jerome McElroy, Misty Leigh McElroy, Dustin Joseph McElroy, Richard David Whitney Jr. and wife, Nicole, Aaron Whitney and wife, Jennifer, Chad Whitney and wife, Amanda, Jenny Whitney Koelbel and husband, Claus, Bryan Whitney and wife, Amy, Victoria Whitney Fenger and husband, Jason, Joshua Whitney, Simon Whitney, Zachary Whitney and fiancee', Stephanie, Hunter Whitney, Forest Whitney, Anastasia Whitney, Abigail Whitney, Glaise Chaisson Jr. and wife, Claire, Reide Chaisson and wife, Stacey, Heather Chaisson Boudreaux and husband, Jamoe, Tammy Chaisson Dardar and husband, Joshua, Barry Chaisson, Sandy Chaisson Verdin and husband, Joey, Christopher Herman, Michelle Herman Woolson and husband, Dustin, Mark Herman II and Lori Herman Scott; 48 great-grandchildren, Jesse Marcel, Ellen LeBlanc, Lauren LeBlanc, Tiffany Ezell Trahan and husband, Lance, Robert Ezell Jr. and fiancee, Kayla Boudreaux, Brian Ezell and wife, Raquel LeBlanc Ezell, Amy Ezell, Kaitlyn Aucoin, Madaline Aucoin, Bethany Aucoin, Ashleigh Aucoin, Courtney Aucoin, Tyler McElroy, MyKaleigh McElroy, Taylor Bowen, Richard Whitney III, Hayes Whitney, Jake Whitney, Claire Whitney, Andrew Witney, Maggie Whitney, Jack Whitney, Lukas Koelbel, Jasper Koelbel, Oliver Koelbel, Adalynn Whitney, Aurey Whitney, Avyn Whitney, Aleyah Whitney, Jason Fenger, Lily Chaisson, Payton Chaisson, Sara Chaisson, Alyssa Chaisson, Amber Bergeron, Abigail Boudreaux, James "Deuce" Boudreaux, Ethan Boudreaux, Shea Chaisson, Bailey Dardar, Gabe Dardar, MaryKaitlyn Fredrick, Kayden Chaisson, Elias Verdin, Adalee Verdin, Leland Herman, Kori Scott and Taylor Scott; and two great-great-grandchildren, McKenzie Ezell and Alison Ezell. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Rudolph "Rudy" Herman; her father, Felix Phillip Piontkowski; her mother, Helen Podlawszewski Piontkowski; one sister, Florence Piontkowksi; and one great-grandson, Preston Paul Aucoin. She was a retired bookkeeper who loved to work with crafts and do puzzles. The family would like to thank Dr. Russell Henry and Dr. Gerald Haydel and the extraordinary CCU Nurses.
