Collins Joseph Detiveaux, 88, a native of Bourg and resident of Houma, died at 10:05 a.m. Monday, June 11, 2007.
Visitation will be from 5 to 10 p.m. Wednesday and from 8 a.m. to funeral time Thursday at Chauvin Funeral Home. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, with burial in the church cemetery.
He is survived by two sons, Michael Detiveaux and wife, Lillian, and Daniel Detiveaux of Houma; one daughter, Phyllis D. Dugas and husband, Huey, of Houma; one sister, Marceline D. Babin of Bayou Blue; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Babin Detiveaux; his parents, Camille Detiveaux and Alice Rogers Detiveaux; two brothers, John Detiveaux and James Detiveaux; three sisters, Ann Detiveaux, Cornelia D. Bergeron and Cecelia D. Crisostoms.
He was a retired pumper/compressor operator with 30 years with Texaco and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, 7th Armored Division.
He was a parishioner of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
