Alphonse John Porche, 95, died Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at 11:25 PM. He was a native of Bayou Blue, LA and resident of Houma, LA. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 25, 2011 from 9:00 AM until service time at St. Louis Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, July 25, 2011 at 11:00 AM at St. Louis Catholic Church. Interment: St. Louis Catholic Church Cemetery He is survived by his, daughters, Robbin Porche Hamner and husband John C. Hamner, Houma, LA, Ginger Porche Schonberg and husband Richard Schonberg, Indianapolis, IN, grandchildren, Julie Hamner Johnston and husband David Johnston, Stephen Hamner and wife Kristin Cahill Hamner, great grandchildren, Mary Grace Johnston, Charles Johnston, Owen Hamner and Camille Hamner, sisters, Laurentine Porche Toups and Anna Porche Richard. He was preceded in death by his, wife, Grace Bergeron Porche, parents, Gilbert Porche and Marie Caro Porche, brothers, Louis Porche and Ernest Porche, sisters, May Porche Bergeron, Rita Porche Bergeron, Maude Porche Matherne and Levie Porche LeBoeuf. He was a parishioner of St. Louis Catholic Church. He retired from Texaco Oil Company after 33 years as a motorman. He served in the United States Army during World War II.
