O'Neil Charles Labit, Jr., 93, died Thursday, June 30, 2011 at 2:05 PM. He was a native of Westwego, LA and resident of Houma, LA.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 4, 2011 from 9:00 AM until service time at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, July 4, 2011 at 11:00 AM at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery #1.
He is survived by his,
sisters, Vera Riggs, Norma Naquin, Betty Mercier,
brothers, Raymond Labit, Norbert Labit, James Labit,
step son, Ronald Hutchinson,
step grandchildren, Letty, Craig and Kirk,
numerous step great grandchildren and step great great grandchildren,
special niece and caregiver, Claudette Robichaux and numerous other nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his,
wife, Florence Navarre Labit
parents, O'Neil C. Labit, Sr. and May Kelly Labit,
sisters, Clothilde Boudreaux,
brother, Louis Labit,
step grandchild, Marc.
O’Neil was a parishioner and Eucharistic Minister at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral.
He served in the United States Army National Guard during World War II and retired from Texaco where he worked as a cook.
He was a member of the American Legion and the Knights of Columbus. He volunteered at Terrebonne General Medical Center and Heritage Manor Nursing Home.
