James Smith

James Cecil Smith, 77, died Friday, June 24, 2011 at 8:00 AM. He was a native of Anadarko, OK and resident of Houma, LA. A private memorial service will be held by the family. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sheila McCoy Smith of Houma LA. Daughters Gwen Smith Apanowicz and husband Gerald V. Apanowicz of Katy TX, Amilie Smith Belanger and husband LeRoy J. Belanger Jr of Houma LA, Mary Kay Smith Naquin and husband Larry Naquin of Houma LA, grandchildren Timothy Joseph Belanger,Michelle Ann Ledet,Lindsey Leigh Apanowicz, Ethan Michael Belanger,and Joel Anthony Belanger. James Smith was preceeded in death by his parents William Kirby Smith Sr.and Edna Gertrude Smith, brother Kenneth Smith and sister Katherine Smith Williams. His caregiver to the end was his granddaughter, Michelle Ann Ledet, whom he loved dearly. Cecil was a retired oilfield superintendent. He worked for Chevron Oil Company, as well as Livingston and Pool. He later owned Dove Consulting Company. He loved his family and his Lord foremost. He enjoyed watching sports and western movies on T.V. A private memorial service will be held for the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or The Leukemia Society.
