Patricia Ann “Pat” McKey, 66, died Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at 1:25 AM. She was a native and lifelong resident of Houma, LA. Visitation will be held on Tuesday June 28, 2011 from 10:00 AM until service time at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. Liturgy of the Word will be held on Tuesday June 28, 2011 at 1:00 PM at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. Interment: St. Bridget Catholic Church Cemetery She is survived by her, daughter and caregiver, Monique Soudelier, grandchildren, Jennifer and Jordan Soudelier, son, Drew Soudelier and brother, Carroll McKey, Jr. She was preceded in death by her, parents, Carrol D. McKey, Sr. and Margurite LeBlanc McKey. Pat was a prior owner of Houma Valve Service Inc. and chairwoman of the Houma Municipal Fire and Police Civil Service Board for 20 years. Pat loved Louisiana Mardi Gras and was a former member of both the Krewe of Aphrodite and Hyacinthians. She was a member of the Women's Oilfield Auxilliary and an avid supporter of animal rights, the ASPCA, My Heart’s Desire and the Terrebonne Parish Animal Shelter. During her years as a civil servant she was also an active member of the Police Bowling League. As a political activist she was a strong supporter of good government and our local police and fire departments. Patsy was a very charitable person and it is said that she never met a stranger. She loved her family, friends, pets and a good sense of humor. She was a kind and generous person who will be greatly missed by all of her family, friends and pets. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to My Heart's Desire, Terrebonne Parish Animal Shelter and any Cancer Association of your choice.
