Dorothy “Dot” Porche Chatagnier Fischer, 81, a native of Bayou Blue and life-long resident of Houma died at 8:30 PM Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at her home surrounded by family.
Visitation will be held on Friday May 27, 2011 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Chauvin Funeral Home and on Saturday May 28, 2011from 9:30 AM until service time at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday May 28, 2011 at 11:00 AM at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral with burial following at St. Francis de Sales No.2 Cemetery.
She is survived by her son, Gary Chatagnier and wife, Sharon, daughters, Amy Chatagnier Champagne and husband Mark, Janie Chatagnier Roger and husband, Chris, all of Houma. She is also survived by two step-children, Sheen Fischer and wife, Editha of Escondido, California and Dr. Melissa Fischer of Shalimar, Florida; thirteen grandchildren, Gary F. Chatagnier and wife, Amy; Craig Chatagnier and wife, Jessica; Chad Chatagnier, Matt Chatagnier and wife Tyra; Allyson, Kyle, and Anna Champagne; Renee, Kristen, Brent and Ryan Roger; and Marshal and Quincey Fischer; four great-grandchildren, Jordan, Alexis, Hayden and Victoria Chatagnier; one brother, Jannard Porche and wife, Linda as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Francis J. Chatagnier and Earl C. Fischer; her parents, James and Elvire LeBoeuf Porche; brothers, James “J.P.” and Horace Porche and sisters, Lura P. Authement, Pearl P. Kappel, Henrietta P. Leonard, Helen P. Creel and Hazel P. Boudreaux.

She was a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Cathedral. She loved her family above all else and was very much loved in return.
