Robert Lee Anthony Bergeron Sr., 83, a native of Terrebonne Parish and resident of Houma, died at 8:42 p.m. Monday, May 14, 2007. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. today at Chauvin Funeral Home and from 1 p.m. to funeral time today at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Mass will be at 2 p.m. today at the church, with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2. He is survived by one son, Roy J. Bergeron Sr. of Houma; three daughters, Nancy Naquin and husband, Paul Sr., Susan Bergeron of Houma and Virginia Bergeron and companion, Chris, of Theriot; one brother, Joseph Nelson Bergeron Jr. of Houma; two sisters, Mary Porche and Euna Mae Champagne of Houma; 18 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Portier Bergeron; his parents, Joseph N. Bergeron and Cecile Stevens Bergeron; two sons, Robert "Bobby" Bergeron Jr. and Phillip C. Bergeron Sr.; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was a retired grocery storeowner and a parishioner of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
