Joyce Ellen LeBlanc Neil, 85, a native of Grand Caillou and resident of Houma, died Tuesday, April 26, 2011, at 6:20 p.m.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., Friday, April 29, at Maria Immacolata Catholic Church. Mass will follow at 11 a.m., with burial at Terrebonne Memorial Park.
She is survived by her two step-sons, Timothy Neil and Daniel Neil and wife, Gwynne; three step-daughters, Suzette Neil Carreker and husband, Herbert, Patricia Neil Hutchinson and husband, Craig, and Mary Neil; six step-grandchildren, Michelle Carreker Patin, Rene Carreker, Paul Carreker, Stacie Fanguy, Parker Hutchinson, and Sean Neil; and two step-great-grandchildren, Austin Patin and Lindsey Carreker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Malvin Neil; her seven siblings, Raymond LeBlanc, John LeBlanc, Rene LeBlanc, Clifford LeBlanc, Jr., Pearl LeBlanc LeBoeuf, Hazel LeBlanc Chauvin, and Eunice LeBlanc; and her parents, Clifford and Lelia LeBlanc.
Joyce was a devoted educator who regularly and fondly recalled her 36 years of teaching in Terrebonne Parish public schools. She was a faithful Catholic, a compassionate lover of animals, and a benefactress of many causes.
