Jacqueline Cecile Boquet Chauvin, 85, a native of Westwego, LA and a lifelong resident of Houma, LA entered eternal rest with family by her side on the evening of Tuesday, April 19, 2011, at her residence. Relatives and friends of Jackie and the family are invited to attend the visitation at 8:00am to 9:45am on Saturday, April 23, 2011, at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc., located at 5899 Hwy 311, Houma, LA. Liturgy of the Word will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2011, at 10:00am Holy Rosary Catholic Church with interment in Holy Rosary Cemetery in Houma, LA. She is survived by two daughters and three sons, Christine Ann Chauvin Daigneault and husband David of Houma; Jerome Michael Chauvin and wife Barbara Cox Chauvin of New Orleans, LA; Jonathan Paul Chauvin and wife Debra Lapeyrouse Chauvin; Kenneth Jude Chauvin and wife Terri Mayeaux Chauvin; and Susan Anne Chauvin Ensley all of Houma. She is also survived by one sister, Beverly Boquet Callahan of Houma. “Mom” as she was affectionately called by her loving children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren was the consummate caregiver and heart of her family. She is survived by 11 grandchildren. Benjamin David and Allison Claire Daigneault, Alanna Marie, Adam Jonathan, Jude Michael and Amie Elizabeth Chauvin of Houma, Krista C. Ellingson of Richardson, TX, and Michelle C. Rogers of New Orleans, and Amanda Christine of Houma, Thomas Bryan, and Jessica Leigh Ensley of San Antonio, TX. She is also survived by four great-grand children. Isabella Cecile Chauvin, Christian Bryan Ensley, of Houma, Colston Michael Rogers of New Orleans, and Graham Holden Ellingson of Richardson, TX, and a host of many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was born February 12, 1926 to Gustave Pierre Bouquet and Celestine Ann Walker Boquet. She was preceded in death by her loving sister Myra Boquet McJimsey, and two loving brothers Robert and Rudolph Boquet. She was married to her beloved husband of 50 years, the late Raymond Paul Chauvin. She was happiest when she was cooking, baking or making her delicious pralines for her family and friends. Her grandchildren were the world to her. Mom will always be remembered for her gentle ways and loving smile. She was a parishioner of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and a member of the Ladies Alter Society. Mom will be dearly missed by all who were blessed to know her.
