Gerald Joseph Trahan, 64, died Saturday, April 2, 2011.
He was a native of Chauvin, LA and resident of Houma, LA.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 4, 2011 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. and on Tuesday, April 5, 2011 from 8:00 AM until 10:00 AM at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at 10:30 AM at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral with burial following at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery #2.
He is survived by his
wife, Nancy Eschete Trahan, Houma, LA,
brothers, Richard Trahan, Bourg, LA and Jerald Trahan, Chauvin, LA,
sister, Gail Blanchard, Chauvin, LA,
and faithful companion, Baby Girl.
He is also survived by Brandi Thomas and numerous other nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his
parents, Doville Trahan and Enola Martin Trahan and
brother, Renauld Trahan.
He was a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Cathedral.
He was the retired District Chief for the Houma Fire Department where he served for 31 years. He was a 20 year veteran for the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office.
He was a past member for the Civil Service Board for over 20 years and he served on the Fire Municipal Pension Service Board. He also served as the local firefighter's Union President.
He was an avid deer hunter and outdoorsman. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle.
