Frances Callahan Kornegay, 88, died Monday, March 28, 2011 at 9:57 AM. She was a native of Boston, MA and resident of Houma, LA. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 4, 2011 from 9:00 AM until service time at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. Funeral service will be held on Monday, April 4, 2011 at 11:00 AM at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery #2. She was survived by her son, Merkle "Skipper" B. Kornegay, Jr. and wife Hilda Mayet Kornegay, Houma, LA, grandchildren, Elizabeth Ann Fontenot, Charles Isaac Kornegay, great grandchildren, Taylor Brooke Kornegay, Caden Isaac Kornegay, Chloe Elizabeth Fontenot, Troy Donavan Fontenot, Jr., sister in law, Rita Callahan She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward E. Callahan and Elizabeth Doyle Callahan husband, Merkle B. Kornegay, Sr., grandchild, Kevin Eugene Kornegay, brother, Edward E. Callahan She was a parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church She was a former member of the Krewe of Hyacinthians, the Krewe of Flames and the Stinker’s Club of Houma. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to CASA of Terrebonne.
