Margaret McIntire Authement

Margaret "Mar Mae" McIntire Authement, 85, a native and resident of Gibson, died at 5 p.m. Tuesday, April 24, 2007. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. today at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, with burial in St. Patrick Cemetery. She is survived by one son, Chris Authement of Gibson; four daughters, Joni Broussard of Gulfport, Miss., Carole Duval of Gibson, Fay Kurkjy of Lexington, Ky., and Anne Authement of Gibson; one sister, Marjorie McIntire Porche of Gibson; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Y. "J.Y." Authement; her parents, Daniel C. "Bud" McIntire and Clysse Tarleton McIntire; one daughter, Margaret "Sister" Rodrigue; one son-in-law, Steve Duval; three brothers, Carroll Daniel McIntire, John Tarleton McIntire and Klein McIntire; and one sister, Clysse McIntire Bourgeois. She was a retired postal clerk with the U.S. Postal Service with 28 years of service and was a retired school teacher for Terrebonne Parish School Board. She was a parishioner of St. Patrick Catholic Church.
