Anne Blackwell Farrell, 86, a native of Atlanta and resident of Marietta, Ga., died April 21, 2007.
A graveside service will be held Thursday at St. Francis Cemetery No. 2 on West Main Street at 11 a.m.
Farrell, formerly of Houma, is survived by three sons, John Farrell, Terry Farrell and Robert Farrell; one daughter, Nancy Rikard; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was a graduate of the University of Alabama and worked for the Fulton County (Georgia) Department of Public Welfare. She also served in the SPARS, the U.S. Coast Guard Women’s Reserve during World War II. After the war, she attended Tulane University’s graduate school of social work.
She was a member of the Lions and Lioness Club in Houma and active in the Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts. She also worked as a social worker for Catholic Charities in Houma for more than 17 years.
