Charles Joseph Bergeron, 82, a native of New Orleans and a resident of Houma, died at 10:15 p.m. Saturday, March 5, 2010.
Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. to funeral time Thursday at First United Methodist Church. Religious services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the church, with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Neal Bergeron; two sons, Charles J. Bergeron Jr. and Jerome Bergeron; three grandchildren, Shelly Bergeron Ashworth, Kacy Bergeron and Troy Bergeron; three great-grandchildren, Alyssa Bergeron, Austin Thompson and Brianna Ashworth; and one sister, Florence Bergeron Ness.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Irvin Bergeron and Mathile Touro Bergeron; his first wife, Celina Hackel Bergeron; two brothers, Allen Bergeron and Roland Bergeron; and two sisters, Mickey Bergeron Langhoff and Beulah Bergeron Dufrene.
He retired from the City of Houma Power Plant. He was a member of First United Methodist Church. He served in the Navy during World War II.
