Argentine Chaisson Guidry, 101, a native of Chauvin and a resident of Houma, died at 10:45 a.m. Saturday, April 21, 2007.
Visitation will be from 6 to 10 p.m. today at Chauvin Funeral Home and from 8 a.m. to funeral time Monday at St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the church, with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.
She is survived by two daughters, Ruth Landry of Houma and Yvette Boudreaux and husband, Milton Boudreaux Jr.; one son-in-law, Malcolm Poiencot of Houma; one sister, Lela C. Sigur and husband, Carroll, of Houma; 13 grandchildren, Barry Landry and wife, Karen, Debbie Galbreath, Karla Basco, Kelly Landry and wife, Celeste, Dina Landry, Greg Landry and wife, Carissa, Keith Poiencot and wife, Sherilyn, Beth McElroy and husband, Burt, Donna Blanchard and husband, Robert, Brian Poiencot and wife, Nettie, Andy Poiencot and wife, Dana, Rhonda LeBeouf and husband, Bryan, and Milton Boudreaux III; 23 great-granchildren; six step-great-granchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and five step-great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony Joseph Guidry; her parents, Dovie Chaisson and Rebecca Bergeron Chaisson; one son-in-law, Felix "Bert" Landry; five brothers, Johnny Chaisson, Sterling Chaisson, Leslie Chaisson, Anthony Chaisson and Edwin Chaisson; and two sisters, Rena Blanchard and Lois Chaisson.
She was a homemaker and a parishioner of St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church.
