Connie Toups Leonard

Connie Toups Leonard, age 58, passed away on Monday, February 28, 2011 at 1:11 AMsurrounded by her family after battling primary peritoneal cancer. A lifelong resident of Houma, she was the daughter of Laurentine Porche Toups and the late Albert Toups. Connie is survived by her devoted and beloved husband of thirty-eight years, Dale Leonard, three children, Beau Leonard, Jessica Leonard and Alison Leonard. She is the sister and sister-in-law, to Kay Michel and husband Paul, Charlene Dupre and husband Jerry and Bonnie Bonnette and husband Temus. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews who will miss their Aunt Connie. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 2, 2011 from 8:30 AM until service time at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral. Mass will be held on Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at 12:00 PM. She was a teacher for nineteen years at St. Francis de Sales School enriching the lives of the many students with which she came into contact. She brought laughter and many smiles to everyone she encountered and made them feel like a lifelong friend. Her joyfulness and infectious personality will truly be missed. The family would like to extend their gratitude to Dr. Russell Henry, Dr. David Pellegrin and Dr. Richard Kline, Patty Voss, Haydel Memorial Hospice and the nursing and medical stadd of the oncology and intensive care units of Ocschner Medical Center of New Orleans.
