William McMurray

William Ronald McMurray, 82, a native of Baton Rouge, LA and a resident of Houma, LA died Friday, February 18, 2011 at 9:15 PM. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 22, 2011 from 11:00 AM until service time at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. Funeral service will be Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at 1:30 PM at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery #2. Survived by: wife, Shirley Daunis McMurray, granddaughter, Sara Ann McMurray, daughter in law, Kathy Pellegrin McMurray, nieces and nephews, Sandra T. Redden, Pat Theophilus, Jack Shelton and Jill S. Langston. Preceded in death by: parents, Howard Pharis McMurray and Myra Hobgood McMurray, son, Ron Paul McMurray, sisters, Elsie M. Theophilus, Peggy M. Sheldon and Gloria M. Larson He taught at numerous schools and was a guidance counselor and vice principal in Terrebonne Parish for 40 years. He served in the Navy during World War II and the Korean War where he recieved the National Defense Service Medal and the World War II Victory Medal. He was a member of the Retired Teacher's Association. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital
