Jane Lafargue

Jane Amundson Lafargue, 79, a native of Shreveport and a resident of Houma, died Sunday, February 6, 2011. She is survived by her children, Norman Lafargue and wife Patricia of Shreveport; John Lafargue of New Orleans ; Nancy Lafargue Scowcroft and husband Peter of Crosby, TX; and grandchildren, Katherine and Allison Lafargue. She also leaves behind many wonderful friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore Amundson and Thelma Walker Amundson of Shreveport; her brother Robert Jerry Amundson of St. Louis, MO; and her aunt Bessye Walker Piacun of New Orleans. She attended Louisiana State University where she was a member of Chi Omega Sorority. She was a homemaker, sports fan, and avid bridge player. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Terrebonne Parish Public Library, 151 Library Drive, Houma, LA 70360. A reception for family and friends honoring her life will be held at Ellendale Country Club on Friday, February 11 from 3PM to 6PM. A private ceremony and burial will be held in Shreveport at a later date.
