James Curtis Roussell Sr., 95, a native of Lafourche Parish, a former resident of St. Bernard and resident of Gray, died at 4:10 p.m. Monday, April 9, 2007.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to funeral time Thursday at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Chalmette. Prayer service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church, with burial in St. Bernard Memorial Garden Cemetery in Chalmette.
He is survived by his second wife, Bella Foret Roussell of Gray; one son, James Roussell Jr. and wife, Bobbie Jo, of Chalmette; three daughters, Sharon Catalanotto of Slidell, Noelie Kattengell and husband, Edward, of Ponchatoula and Sandra Duet Nunez of Gray; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Noelie Alphonso Roussell; his parents, Reme Roussell Sr. and Albertine Falgout Roussell; one great-grandson, Zachary Nunez; one brother; and four sisters.
He was a retired gauger with Tenneco Oil Refinery of 42 years, a professional duck carver and a member of Tenneco Refinery Union.
He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Chalmette.
