Joseph Lodrigue

Joseph Edward Lodrigue Sr., 78, a native of Houma and a resident of Dulac, died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2011. Visitation will be from 4 to 10 p.m. Sunday at Chauvin Funeral Home and from 9 a.m. to funeral time Monday at Holy Family Catholic Church. Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery. He is survived by one son, Joseph “June” Lodrigue Jr. and wife, Glenda of Houma; two daughters, Shirley Feet and husband, Ronald, of Dulac, and Gail Lodrigue and companion, Audra Dupre of Dulac; one brother, Louis “Mac” Lodrigue and wife, Brandy, of Houma; one sister, Marie Irene Lodrigue of Houma; nine grandchildren, Tammy Feet, Rhonda Feet, Shannon Feet Boquet, Sherry Feet Penalber, Mindy Lodrigue DeHart, Josie Lodrigue, Megan Lodrigue, Ashlee Willis and Lora Leigh Luquet; four stepgrandchildren, Kevin Choate, Robert Choate Jr., Merlin Avet Jr. and Paul Avet; 10 great-grandchildren, Derek Pinell, Hunter Davis, Roy Dean Jr., Austin Boquet, Lauren Boquet, Chase Falgout, Elizabeth Penalber, Trystan Penalber, Taylor Boquet and Kaleigh Arceneaux; and three step-great-grandchildren, Kaya Choate, Robert Williams and Christian Choate. He was preceded in death by her parents, Eloi “Mexican” Lodrigue and Elizabeth Billiot Lodrigue; his wife, Rose Verdin Lodrigue; four brothers, Junior Lodrigue, Ernest Lodrigue, Antoine Nolan Lodrigue and Joseph Ivy Lodrigue; three sisters, Marie Florence Lodrigue, Josephine Mable Billiot and Marie Mildred Chaisson; one grandchild, JoAnna Feet; and two great-grandchildren, Raven Pinell and Brenden Gaudet. He was a parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church. His greatest joy was his family. He loved gatherings with family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him. He will always remain in our hearts. May he forever rest in peace.
