David Simpson Spence, 52, a native of Houma, LA and a resident of Lafayette, LA died Saturday, January 22, 2011.
Visitation will be Thursday, January 27, 2011 from 9:00 AM until service time at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral.
Services will be Thursday, January 27, 2011 at 12:00 p.m. at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral with burial at Bayou Black Cemetery.

Children, Allison and Jeffrey Spence;
Brothers, Charles Carey Spence, Jr, and wife Cindy, Mark Edward Spence and Wife Monee, Philip Allen Spence and wife Samantha
Sisters: Elizabeth Spence Watkins and husband Bill Watkins, Sharon Spence Boudreaux and husband David Boudreaux, Mary Spence Orgeron and husband Lee Orgeron and numerous nieces and nephews.

David was an active parishioner of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Lafayette, Louisiana. He was a devoted Catholic who loved the rosary and it could always be found in his pocket.
He attended St. Francis de Sales School and graduated from Vandebilt Catholic High School. David graduated from Nicholls State University in 1981 with a Bachelor's Degree, with a Major in Biology and a minor in Chemistry.
He worked for Reed Hycalog, Baker Hughes and most recently GL Noble Denton in Houston.
He was affiliated with LAGCOE of Lafayette.
David was a generous donor of platelets at UBS in Lafayette. His final gift was the donation of his organs.
He was an excellent golfer. A devoted husband, father, brother and son. His bright mind and contagious smile will be missed by all.
