Norman John “Pops” Marmillion, 93, died from complications of Parkinson’s Disease at his home in Houma surrounded by his family. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to funeral time Monday at Maria Immacolata Catholic Church. Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the church, with burial at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2. For the past 67 years, “Pops” was the faithful husband of Lillian Larose. Besides his wife, “Pops” is survived by his five children, Mary Ann Marmillion Rampton, by Norman Jr. and his wife, Sand Warren Marmillion, by Valsin Marmillion and his partner, Juan Pisani, by Kathy Marmillion Trahan and by Stephen and his wife, Colleen Cole Marmillion. Eight grandchildren, Bradley Naquin and his wife, Melanie, Alicia Naquin Gros, Jamie Trahan Bernard, Ron Trahan and his wife, Karen, Mitch Trahan and Nicole, Symone and Francoise Marmillion have always called him their "Papee.” Six great-grandchildren, Mary Beth and Matthew Gros, Kailin and Britlyn Bernard, Conner and Maddie Jo Trahan; along with a host of nieces and nephews will all miss their “Papee". “Pops” was preceded in death by his five Marmillion siblings, Earl, Lucille “Hicks”, Alvin, Edith (Thibodeaux) and Edmee (Adams); his brother, Merlin Marmillion who lives in Ponchatoula. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 10, 2011 from 8:00 AM until service time at Maria Immaculata Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday January 10, 2011 at 11:00 AM with burial at Saint Francis de Sales Cemetery #2.
