Frances Hawkinson

Frances Hawkinson, 63, a native of Houma, a former resident of New Orleans and a resident of Vicksburg since 1998, died Sunday, Jan. 2, 2011, at River Region Medical Center of Vicksburg, Miss. A celebration of her life service will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Chauvin Funeral Home. She is survived by her husband, Bruce Andrew Hawkinson; one brother, Robert R. Guillot of Houma; and two nieces, Amy R. Guillot of New Orleans and Robyn G. Ledet and husband, Lynn, of Houma. She was the daughter of the late Roy Emile Guillot and Miriam Berniard Guillot. Mrs. Hawkinson was a 1964 graduate of St. Francis de Sales High School in Houma and Nicholls State University in Thibodaux. She was a teacher at Ecole Classique in New Orleans for 20 years and Porters Chapel Academy in Vicksburg for 10 years, retiring in 2009. Mrs. Hawkinson was a member of several professional organizations and a member of the Catholic faith.
