Francis “Popeye” Brunet, 83, a native of Theriot, LA and resident of Houma, LA died Sunday, December 26, 2010 at 7:20 p.m. Visitation will be from 6:15 until 9:00 PM on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. and on Thursday, from 9:00 a.m. until service time December 30, 2010 at Annunziata Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, December 30, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Annunziata Catholic Church with Interment at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery #2. He is survived by 3 Daughters: Lorraine Brunet Allemand and husband Danny of Houma; Cindy Brunet Dinger and husband John of Laplace; and Denise Brunet Scherer and husband Lee of Billings, MT, “My Son” Wayne Francis Brunet and wife Karen of Lafayette; Sisters: Walterine Bourg, Grace Clanton and husband Charles, Veronica Champagne and husband Murphy, Ramona Alleman all of Houma; Brothers: Henry and wife Linda, Ralph and wife Evelyn of Houma; 6 granchildren: Toni Allemand Delcambre of Mt. Pleasant, NC, Vicki Allemand Scott And husband of Patrick of Houma; Mark Allemand and wife Tonya of Schriever, Joshua Dinger of Laplace, Jason Scherer and wife Leigh of Billings, MT; Danielle Brunet of Belle Rose; 1 Step Grandchild: Blake Taylor; 8 Great Grandchildren: Caleb Delcambre and wife Crystal of Baltimore, MD, Micah Delcambre of Mt. Pleasant, NC., Alex Scott and Abbi Scott of Houma; Lindsey Allemand and Emily Allemand of Schriever; Carly Taylor and Brady Taylor of Many, LA. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bessie Savoie Brunet, Mother: Lillian Voisin Brunet and Father, Stanley Paul Brunet;. 3 Brothers: Floyd Brunet, S.P. Brunet, and Ira Brunet 1 Granddaughter: Peggy Sue Allemand 1 Great Granddaughter: Patti Lynn Scott Step granddaughter: Sommer Taylor He was a member of Annunziata Catholic Church. He worked various oilfield jobs around the world with J.Ray McDermott and Santa Fe, before returning back to work in Houma where he retired and opened his own seafood market, Popeye’s Seafood. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a lifetime member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks. He was a member of the Dularge Hunting Club.
