MOTHER: Marjorie Boquet Neal; brothers, Carlton “RED” and wife Norma Jane Neal, Wendell and wife Sandra Neal and Lawrence Jr. and wife Stephanie; sisters, Irene and husband Robert Henry Sr., and Julia and husband Raymond Ledet; and grandchildren, Christian and Emma Diano.

Cecil was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence V. Neal, Sr.; brothers, Arthur and Allen Neal; sister, Elsie Valure;  paternal grandparents, Johnny and Julie Rodrigue Neal; and paternal grandparents, Joseph and Flora Boquet.

He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. His two grandchildren were the apples of his eyes. Cecil was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish, hunt and cook – a true Cajun at heart. He enjoyed his campground affectionally named “Cecil’s Island” and considered his tenants to be family. He was a man of integrity and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Cecil served in the army in Vung Tau, Vietnam from 1969-1970. After serving his country he returned home to begin his career in the marine transportation industry. He worked for LeBeouf Towing for 46 years beginning in 1972 as captain aboard the Creole Dawn. He moved to shoreside in 1975 and was vice president of operations at the time of his passing. His knowledge and experience in the boat business were key to LeBeouf’s operations, customers, and fellow employees.  The industry has lost a friend.

Fair tides, calm seas and Godspeed to Cecil Neal.
